208 – Fully sick; disability inclusion in digital health. Gillian Mason

Can digital health assist that 1 in every 6 Australian who has a disability?
Gillian Mason is a disabled physiotherapist-researcher, patient advocate and science communicator who is passionate about using her seventeen years of healthcare experience ‘from both sides of the bedside’ to transform the way that people’s lived experience is valued and included in the design of human-centred, digitally-enabled, accessible health systems.
In this episode, Pete and Gillian discuss the accessibility of healthcare for people with a disability and the role of digital health when it comes to disability inclusion.
Tune into this episode to learn how lived experiences can help to guide the development of digital health solutions that address disabilities. Co-designing is important and in this episode, Gillian shares a few ways that developers can approach designing in such a manner. Plus lots more.
