In today’s episode, we are joined by Dr. Jag Singh to discuss the stark realities of the lack of access to virtual care for minority groups and the disenfranchised during the Coronavirus outbreak.
Dr. Singh is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and served as the Clinical Director of the Cardiology Division from 2015 to 2020. He is also the Founding Director of the Resynchronization and Advanced Cardiac Therapeutics Program at the Massachusetts General Hospital Heart Center.
While together, Dr. Singh shares the early findings from his institution’s study regarding the lack of access to virtual care and the direct negative impact it is having on many of our fellow Americans. Dr. Singh also shares valuable and insightful recommendations for our industry leaders to be contemplating to fix this crisis.

About our Guest:
Dr. Jag Singh is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He has served as the Clinical Director of the Cardiology Division and the Roman W. DeSanctis Endowed Chair in Cardiology (2015-2020). He is the Founding Director of the Resynchronization and Advanced Cardiac Therapeutics Program, at the Massachusetts General Hospital Heart Center. Dr. Singh received his medical degree from BJ Medical College, Pune University, India. He completed his internal medicine residency, cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology fellowships at Mass General Hospital. He also earned a doctorate from Oxford University, a Master of science in clinical investigation from MIT-Harvard and a research fellowship at the Framingham Heart Study.
Dr. Singh is a well-recognized scientist and educator and has given over 300 lectures at multiple national and international conferences over the last few years. He is a fixture on numerous educational panels and a speaker at several ‘Meet the Masters’ and ‘Meet the Expert’ sessions at national and international conferences. He has served as the program director of over 30 educational symposia.
Dr. Singh’s research interests are in clinical cardiac electrophysiology. He is the national & global principal investigator on 4 ongoing multi-center clinical trials in device therapy and sensor strategies for heart failure and atrial fibrillation. He is also a member of several steering committees for large multicenter research studies. Much of his current efforts are focused on healthcare redesign, digital health and medical device innovations. Dr. Singh has served as an International Associate editor for the European Heart Journal (2012-2015) and Deputy Editor of the Journal of American College of Cardiology: Clinical EP (2015-2020). He serves on the editorial board of several medical journals and is currently the Editor-in-chief of the Current Treatment Options in Cardiovascular Medicine. Dr. Singh has over 350 publications inclusive of original research articles, textbook chapters, review articles and editorials. He has edited two books on: i) Imaging in Electrophysiology and ii) Update on Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy.
