In this episode, we talk with our special guest Graci Harkema about her journey of overcoming adversity and her advice to find your authentic voice as a leader.
Graci is a multi-award-winning international diversity, equity, and inclusion speaker, consultant, and author. She specializes in unconscious bias and inclusive leadership training with Fortune 500 to small businesses within various industries.
Graci shares her inspirational story from being born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo during civil unrest with little chance of survival to being adopted by an American missionary family, realizing her sexual orientation, and ultimately accepting herself for who she is.
We also talk about some of her greatest lessons in writing the book ‘Rising: From a Mud Hut to the Boardroom- and Back Again’ and some advice to be more authentic as leaders.
