In this episode, we talk with our special guests, Dr. Marion Ball and Tori Shaw Morawski, about health informatics and innovative strategies for interprofessional leadership in healthcare.
Marion is an international innovator, educator, author, and member of the National Academy of Medicine with over 45 years of experience in the healthcare IT community. Her research focuses on health informatics curriculum design, education, and enabling technology from theory into practice.
Tori has over 15 years of experience designing and implementing grassroots programs and initiatives. She currently serves as the Senior Manager of Professional Development for the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) where she oversees all programs, activities, volunteer efforts, and research for global health informatics students and professionals.
Marion and Tori share about the new Springer book “Nursing Informatics: A Health Informatics, Interprofessional and Global Perspective (5th Edition)” and the role of informatics and technology in improving the well-being of clinicians, the efficiency of the health system, and the safety of patients.
We also discuss the chapter we co-authored about “Interprofessional Leadership: Innovative Strategies” from an intrapreneurial and entrepreneurial perspective.
