See a need. Fill a need.
OVERVIEW/COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Record keeping is a key component of healthcare. How many times have you – either as a caregiver or patient – filled out a form only to realize that it is not shared with the patient’s or your providers? What about the family history or contributions to the patient’s record? This was Jean Ross’ essential question and as a result, she created a company that solves that problem. Join RNegade podcast hosts Karen and Antra as they learn from Jean how her journey as a nurse led her to become a nursepreneur.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Jean Ross is a nurse who has spent 20 years working in healthcare. From patient financial
services to human resources to critical care, Jean took her healthcare experience to start a local
care coordination company for older adults in 2016. From that experience, Jean learned two
important things: The next level of patient advocacy will be around health information and
nurses are significantly underrepresented in innovation and entrepreneurship.
Being a person who puts her money where her mouth is, Jean teamed up with her neighbor to
found a technology product, Primary Record, to disrupt the notebooks and binders she saw
families using in the ICU and at home. Her biggest ask of any nurse is to please stay in
healthcare doing something with that experience and knowledge you own. It is valuable. You are
valuable. And, if you are thinking of leaving nursing to become a real estate agent, call Jean.
