336: So Many Babies with Susan Landers MD
Dr. Susan Landers is a former neonatologist who experienced burnout late in her career. Once she realized what she was dealing with, she also figured out that it was preventable. She now helps doctors and organizations prevent physician burnout and she’s sharing her story in her new book, So Many Babies.
To say that Dr. Susan loved her career would be an understatement. It was so fulfilling and even though it didn’t always go to plan, she knew she was making a difference in the world. So what caused her burnout?
Like most people, it was a variety of things. Pressure at home, the need to be perfect in her job, postpartum depression, the list could go on and on. She realized what was happening early on and was able to make big changes in her life to help alleviate the weight.
Her philosophy of tackling things head on, served her well throughout her career and her life with her kids.
