130: Feedback with Dr. Terri Malcolm
Terri Malcolm MD, FACOG, MBA, CPE is a Physician Leadership, Social Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence coach who comes on the podcast today to talk about feedback. She explains feedback needs to be:
-
Specific
-
Descriptive
-
Behavioral based information
-
Designed to help the person move forward
-
Phrase it as “Let me share my reaction” instead of “Let me give you some feedback.”
Also, that feedback needs to be surrounded by psychological safety and takes practice. Remember when seeking feedback, ask specific questions for what you specifically what to know, what is their intention, how well do I know this person and ultimately, feedback is subjective!
