Kathy has been in remission from Multiple Myeloma, a devastating blood cancer affecting the plasma cells in bone marrow, for nearly three decades. In 1998, she co-founded The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, a nonprofit accelerating the development of innovative treatments for this cancer. The MMRF single-handedly changed the paradigm for those diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. As of today, they’ve raised half a billion dollars for the disease.
