Joining Ben on the podcast this week, Dr. Rupert Whitaker calls in from COVID lockdown in the UK, to share his life story as one of the UK’s longest surviving people with HIV. Dr. Whitaker was a founding member of the Terrence Higgins Trust and went on to found the Tuke Institute, a think-tank that promotes research into patient-centered healthcare strategies.
This episode coincides with the US release of the TV mini-series, It’s a Sin, a show about AIDS in London in the 80s, our episode title is a riff on the tv show’s title song by the Pet Shop Boys.
